10/10/07 - Baseline League Meet #2
Deju Vu
Again Upland wins all four races.

Upland Sweeps Baseline League Races
We are so very proud of your team performance at the BLM#2.

The Girls’ JV/FS Race featured many Upland 1st season runners closing in on Varsity Standard #1 at 7-7:15 mile pace. This unit just
keeps getting better and better with a great group of rookies.  Olivia, Ashley, Elisabeth, Lauren, Marissa, Kristan and all the girls
continue to dominate this race in the Baseline League with many available to perform at the varsity level when called upon. This depth
and the support for “who ever gets called up” has been an inspiration this season.

Wow, our Varsity girls really came to run with many running a minute or faster over last year on this course! Diana, Money, Carr,
Barr and Pilar ran like a veteran team on a mission. I think 4 of the 5 ran 60+ seconds faster than last year here at Red Hill. Carr and
the rookie Jordan ran in extreme discomfort with great courage and now must heal up. Melina got the “call up” and executed her
assignment in putting 7 in front of 5 of the other team. Great job ladies!

Kyle and Albert lead the way in the JV/FS race with Kyle on the come back trail! Mitchell really stepped up to run his best race of the
season with Alex making a good run after his auto accident last week. Others including Noel, Stuart, Big Josh, Wes, Antonio; first
season runners Eric, The Anthony's, Kevin, Nick A, Kyle W, and Peter; returnees Tyler, Pablo, Brett, Ian and all the rest… you guys
make us very proud! We had many personal best times at Red Hill from this group. Running fast at the right time!

We had a good day in the varsity boys’ race with Nick running a super 3xmile workout (502, 513 hill, 450) at the park. With Nick in
the race our team time may have been faster than last year’s team! This unit is turning the corner and looks to run fast in November.
Michael and Caesar had a tough day, while John, Tyler, Robert, Andrew and Cameron ran well. We now need to push through quality
training, keep the faith and push each runner to OUR potential.

Now, we are on to the Mt Sac Cross Country Invitational. The largest cross country invitational in the world! Always be respectful
and have fun, you have earned it!

10/6/07 - Inland Empire Challenge
In 2006, Upland boys took 5th place in the fastest California State Meet to date, our overall depth at the lower levels
may have been overlooked. Well, our young guns, led by junior Nick Johnson (12th place – 15:16) are ready to take
us back to the state meet as we raced home with the San Bernardino County Award for the 3rd year in a row! Upland
was in 4th place, back six points, after four runners, but our tremendous depth came through. A 19-second gap
between our #2 and #5 runners provided the Highlanders with 109 points and that was just enough to hold off Corona
(113) and La Sierra (117).

Boys Sweeps Race - Upland finished 2nd overall and 1st in San Bernardino County
N. Johnson (jr) 15:15.8, J. Guzman (sr) 15:26.6, T. Bradey (jr) 15:42.1, R. Martinez (sr) 15:45.3, C. Prieto (sr) 15:46.0,

9/6/07 - Buena Park HS
Upland competed against Esperanza, Buena Park, Fountain Valley & Great Oak.  The weather was warm, but not to hot.  The
course was virtually flat with the young athletes running over grass, dirt, concrete and black top.  The course was very compact
which made it wonderfully easy for spectators to enjoy.
Complete results and duel results are available now.
9/8/2007 - Bosco Tech Invite
Great day for running!  Bosco is one the every ones favorites.  Racing against your peers, music in the background and
awards always puts our athletes in a running mood.  And we were in the mood today.  Many P R's were lower today and
both teams brought home some new hardware.  The boys proudly carrying the 1st place plaque and the girls sporting the
2nd place plaque.  Congratulations to all the athletes who ran today.  Follow this link to see todays
